Rugsfordesign.com was founded in 2005 and is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
We specialize in collecting and selling very special wool and silk rugs and kilims that are hand-woven by native women of Anatolian (Turkey) tribes and villages with natural, plant-vegetable dyes. Most of our rugs and kilims are based on the unique colors and patterns of the Anatolian nomads and villagers. We take pride in the quality and authenticity of our rugs and kilims.
We do not carry any rugs that are machine-made. With the rapid spread of technology in the textiles industry, there is more and more machine made rugs being manufactured. However the mission of Rugsfordesign.com is to bring you 100% natural, authentic hand-made art in the form of rugs and not just a utilitarian floor covering. If well taken care of, these valuable rugs and kilims last for years while growing in value as time passes as antiques.

Hello! I am Lale Kumral, founder of Rugsfordesign.com. I am a Turkish Citizen living in the United States for almost 7 years now. This is going to be an interesting ABOUT US section but I really want to connect with my customers and I want you to be able to visualize the spirit of the company you might be purchasing your valuable rugs from.How and why Turkish Rugs and Kilims?
It started with my best friend here in USA, getting married. I wanted to get her something original and something that she could keep for a long long time and be reminded of Turkey and me. While shopping around for a gift for her in Istanbul's famous, historic and extraordinary Grand Bazaar I was mesmerized by the beauty of Turkish rugs and kilims all over again. I decided to buy her a rug. And that was the starting point of my enthusiasm of bringing this valuable heritage of handmade rugs and kilims from my beloved county Turkey to USA.In a way as Rugsfordesign.com we are helping connect cultures and exchange the experience of thousands of years of tradition between Turkey and visitors of Rugsfordesign.com. We do this with heart!
